Course Title: Horticulture & Landscape Gardening/Organic Production FETAC (NCVA) LEVEL 5 – AWARD CASHX

Course Description:

This is a one year Course in Horticulture and Landscape Gardening.

Course Content:

  • Plant Identification and Use
  • Nursery Stock Production
  • Organic Production Principals
  • Plant Science Soil Science and Growing Media
  • Safety and Health at Work
  • Communications
  • Work Experience

Certification:

FETAC Certificate in Applied Science.

Career Opportunities:

Graduates from this course find employment in Nurseries, Golf Courses, Landscaping and Flower Centres. Students may apply to the National Botanical Gardens to Horticultural Colleges and Institute of Technologies.

PLC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Leaving Certificate or Equivalent
  • Mature students accepted without Leaving Cert.
  • Interviews.

Maintenance Grants

Students taking PLC Courses are now eligible to apply for maintenance grants. These grants are means tested.

FEES

There are no Tuition Fees for PLC Courses. Examination fees, membership fees of professional bodies (where applicable) and other sundry items (course materials) are payable at various times throughout the academic year.
