What is a Student Council?
A Student Council is a representative structure for students, through which they work in partnership with school management, staff and parents for the benefit of the school and its students.
Our Student Council is made up of one student from each class group in every year.
Student Council Activities
The Student Council are involved in many activities in the school, including:
- Liaising with the Principal on issues of concern to students
- Involvement in school planning and school policies
- Fundraising and community involvement
- Assisting at school events such as Open Evenings, school talks, LWETB events and Comhairle Na nOg
Most Recently, the Student Council Have Had Important Input In:
- Welcoming Minister for Education Norma Foley on her visit to the school last year
- Representing the student voice at the ISSU Conference at TUS Campus in Athlone and at the Longford Comhairle na nOg annual conference
- Working with the Road Safety Authority to promote road safety and visibility among the student body
- Representing the student voice of Templemichael College on the LWETB Student Advisory Committee
- Organising a Halloween Fancy Dress fundraiser for Cian's Kennels
