Welcome to the Templemichael College Longford

First of all I’d like to welcome you to our new site. Templemichael College is proud to be a VEC school that has been in Longford since 1983. You may ask what the VEC is and how is it relevant to your child’s education.

The VEC was originally set up in 1930’s to provide easy access to continuing education for Ireland’s young at a time when second level education was not the norm. Through the years the VEC prides itself on changing and growing with the needs of the county. This need is what led to the opening of Templemichael College in 1983.

Since opening our doors we too have strived to provide both first class and relevant educational needs for each of our students. With our rich history, we are in a unique position to offer our students a wide range of subjects that will give your child the best chance of achieving their goals. We are the same as all second level schools our syllabus includes academic subjects such as Mathematics, English, Irish, French, History, etc but we also offer less widely available subjects such as Engineering, Woodwork, Metalwork, Technical Graphics and Home-Economics.

Sorcha Nic DhonnachaTemplemichael College also offers a wide range of subjects at third level. Please see our PLC page for further information.

Feel free to browse our site to get a better feel for our school, post any questions you may have on our “ask the school” forum or give us a call on 043 3345455.
